Remote Connections

This guide provides details on using different types of remote connections in SPSA.


RDP Connections (Windows)

Connecting

  1. Click on an RDP connection from your home screen
  2. Enter Windows credentials if prompted
  3. Windows desktop appears in your browser

Using Windows

  • Full desktop experience
  • Keyboard and mouse work normally
  • Use Ctrl+Alt+Shift for SPSA menu

Special Keys

Key Combination How to Send
Ctrl+Alt+Del Use SPSA menu or Ctrl+Alt+End
Windows key Click Start button
Alt+Tab Works normally

SSH Connections (Linux/Unix)

Connecting

  1. Click on an SSH connection
  2. Enter credentials if prompted
  3. Terminal appears in browser

Using Terminal

  • Type commands normally
  • Use up/down arrows for history
  • Tab for auto-completion

Copy/Paste

  • Select text to copy
  • Use Ctrl+Alt+Shift to access clipboard
  • Paste with Ctrl+Shift+V or right-click

VNC Connections

Connecting

  1. Click on a VNC connection
  2. Enter VNC password if prompted
  3. Remote desktop appears

Using VNC

  • Mouse and keyboard work normally
  • May have slight delay compared to RDP
  • Use SPSA menu for special keys

Session Controls

SPSA Menu

Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift to access:

Option Function
Clipboard Copy/paste between systems
Keyboard On-screen keyboard
Disconnect End session

Clipboard Transfer

  1. Copy text locally
  2. Open SPSA menu > Clipboard
  3. Paste into text area
  4. Text available in remote session

To copy from remote: 1. Copy in remote session 2. Open SPSA menu > Clipboard 3. Text appears in panel 4. Copy from panel locally


Ending Sessions

Proper Logout

  • Windows: Start > Sign out
  • Linux: Type exit or logout

Disconnect

  • Close browser tab, or
  • Use SPSA menu > Disconnect

Troubleshooting

Issue Solution
Black screen Wait for system to load
Cannot type Click in the session window
Session slow Reduce color depth
Clipboard not working Use SPSA menu clipboard
